Lack of words does not mean lack of Work!

I have to apologise for not making a blog post for over a month. I spent most of January sick; even now I still have slime in my lungs which makes breathing interesting! But even bad health won’t stop me… well not for long! Thanks to Tricky, we have booked all our tickets and room for the May MCM Expo and have already booked for the October one so expect to see us trudging around filming and checking out all the cool stuff. I am also working on something awesome for the October expo which I hope you will all enjoy seeing, that is, if I finish it!!

I have also been working on the  Rentapoints site with Tarty2000; who has just started his new web series where he hunts down achievements points within the time limit of a rental (2days)! There are already two episodes and there are more on the way which look really fun! Should check it out and fan the Rentapoints Facebook page.

Game wise, Red Dead Redemption has taken over the xbox360 and has fortified its position. DLC has been called in and I am now knee deep in awesome achievements and virtual corpses! All I can say about this game is; WHY wasn’t I playing it ages ago? It’s so awesome, it has kicked Halo: Reach from my bedside table! I would love to see this become a full scale MMO but that’s too cool to EVER happen!

Work on the JoeIce.show is still progressing and I hope to have the first episode soon. I warn you, it’s not very good… but if you like it; Good on yea!!! I have no schedule planned for their release but I have the first five episodes planed and a back story to rival any B-Grade SyFy series!! So hopefully I will be able to pull it off in the end.

I need to become less lazy and find more time.

Until next time, put on your facemasks and avoid sick people!

There and…still going?

Ah good bye 2010, Hello promising 2011, a year filled with dreams and marvel! But with the passing of a year, I wish to look back at all the good things that happened. So with no further-a-do , this is my year in review!

Finishing College!
2010 will be the year I finished college for good, finishing with passable grades I will say. Now I wish I could say I look back on college as a useful and enlightening process but I can’t. I was always told that I’d look back at school and see it as my happiest time. I don’t and college wasn’t much better. By the end of the course, I was glad it was over. Many of the tutors sucked at their jobs and project barely made any sense based on the course. So I was happy to see it done with and receive passes for projects I should have failed!! Now I just need to find a job!!

Friendships
I have to say I wouldn’t have made it through this year without my friends. They really have been there for me when I’ve needed them. Without a job to take up time, it’s been fun hanging with my friends and working on projects together that I never had time to with college getting in the way. I thank you all for support you’ve given over the last year.

Scott Pilgrim and The Social Network
The movies of the year for me. They captured everything that I look for in a movie now, they are targeted for my mind and for my heart. Well done there!! Scott Pilgrim is what we need in the “Game-to-Movie” genre. Fair enough, Scott Pilgrim is not a game franchise but the comic is built on a game and otaku culture which my life is also built so deeply on that I can’t call it a “Comicbook-movie” without facepalming and falling over my own feet! The effects, sounds and style of the movie is what we need in all upcoming Game-Movies and the cast was simple amazing. We better see Ellen Wong in more movies soon!! As for Social Network, it really does capture the growth of Facebook and development of the social networking side of the internet. The lifestyle of nerds and rise to success and the fall from grace of more privilege members of sociality! In a world where nothing is private and everything can be liked/disliked, where does it leave those who won’t live publically or understand that what you do in school/college will affect your future in ways you could never expect? Welcome to our world; YouTubers now rule your airwaves and Big Brother has been replaced with Little Snitch!

Minecraft
Probably this year’s most surprising find. I’ve only had it a month, but it has already swallowed most of my time and has had me pushing back projects that were already on tight deadlines. Much like lego, that has a firm grip on my childhood; Minecraft is filled with unlimited possibilities and limited only by your imagination, which is why I am food at the PC at 4am building the most elaborate castle or deepest mine.

Until next time, enjoy 2011, I sure will be!!

Download November –> GO!

So it’s been quite an eventful few weeks and I’ve not really had a chance to keep posting stuff on the blog. I do apologise but I have been trying to keep you informed with goings on Twitter. If you are not already following me, you should maybe look into that. It’s a good way to get your daily dose of Joe without OD’ing on the reading of huge blog posts, which you are about to get.

So First things first, Personal stuff. I recently moved my office in to the studio where all the From the Attic Films stuff is created. This was for a few reasons:

  1. It allows me to keep an eye on everyone that is working or playing in here.
  2. It allows me to film shows and shorts either with a set or on green screen and quickly start editing it without having to come back later to reshoot things.
  3. Its warmer in here then my old office!

It also has allowed me to move into a nicer bedroom in the house, one with new carpet and heating as my old bedroom was killer to heat. This is no way me moaning about how cold it’s started to get in the UK, I like the cold, but it should be at least snowing!! I really like snow!

Now onto business! Work on the JoeIce.show is on its way to its newly planned release date sometime after Christmas, which will hopefully match up with the shows we have planned to release under From the Attic Films. Now, I did plan to have my series start this month but due to a condition I will call “Lazy Arse”, I haven’t really been able to give the show my full attention and I’m sorry that you’ll just have to wait till after Christmas to see my ugly mug on film. From the Attic Films also just released our video from the recent October 2010 MCM Expo that the Cast & Crew went to and came back with our pockets empty, smiles on our faces and proud to know a community so joyful and willing to hug anyone (Thou I seem to have a face that says “Hug me and die!” so no hugs for the big man.)

Website wise, I have been doing some slight redesign on JoeIce.com and you will soon see the Project page get an update with a new popup frame and new info. I also recently uploaded Rent-A-Points to carry Tarty’s web series and we have plenty more to soon go on it! Nothing to report from Forgotten Source, thou if you havn’t already, you really should sign-up to the forum.

So that’s the November download for you. Hope you’ve enjoy reading it. Oh, and for people wondering what happened to the weekly pointless Q&A, I’ve been working ALRIGHT! But it will return soon; if you want it quicker, start sending me your Pointless Questions to Joe@JoeIce.com!

Until next time, This has been JoeIce and I’m now gonna go find me bed!
